Fulwood WTW Clean Water Reservoir Refurbishment
Introduction
UCL Ltd was contracted to undertake critical structural refurbishment of a clean water reservoir at Fulwood WTW. The asset required comprehensive surface preparation, structural remediation and specialised coating application across the walls, columns, floor and soffit, with strict compliance to drinking water regulations paramount throughout.
Our Solution
UCL Ltd deployed Ultra High Pressure (UHP) jetting machines across all internal surfaces, removing surface build-up and historical contaminants to reveal a sound substrate with an excellent mechanical key. A high-performance re-profiling render system was then applied to establish a uniform, defect-free profile, overcoated with two 1mm layers of a polymer-modified, cementitious waterproof coating. A highly elastic pre-formed joint banding system was installed to seal all perimeter and wall joints, with atmospheric conditions continuously monitored throughout to ensure full compliance with Regulation 31 and DWI standards.
